2 Elkomix -135 Concrete Plant for Nuclear Plant in Belgium

For a great nuclear power plant project in Belgium, Elkon has just supplied and installed an Elkomix -135 stationary concrete batching plant for a major player in the concrete industry of Belgium. The project involves the supply of high quality concrete for the construction of the nuclear power plant.

While this stationary concrete plant was in production order, due to urgent need of the construction site, the company ordered for another Elkomix-135 Quick Master compact concrete batching plant from the stock. That plant with specifications such as a linear aggregate storage bins, 4500/3000l. Elkontwinshaft mixer, aggregate transfer conveyor into the mixer and 2 cement silos, was immediately delivered and installed in client's jobsite. Different from stationary ones, Elkoncompact concrete batching plants offer the advantages of quick and easy assembly, ability of being installed on a flat concrete surface, easy transportation etc.

On the other hand, Elkomix-135 stationary concrete batching plant was designed and manufactured according to the strict and specific requirements of the Belgian customer and was able to be delivered despite the tough conditions of the pandemic like restrictions and difficulties in logistics between countries. The mechanical assembly of the plant was mainly carried out by the customer itself with the remote support and detailed instructions provided byElkon. As soon as the borders between two countries were opened and flights started to operate, Elkon sent its supervisors to the site to complete the installation and commissioning of the concrete plant, which have now been successfully completed.

Given Elkomix-135stationary concrete batching plant is equipped with an Elkon 5000/3330 l. twinshaft mixer, the plant mixer produces fresh compacted concrete up to 135-140 cu.m with 3.33 cu.m of mixture per cycle. Aggregates will be stored in linear binsof 6, 20m³  each. For cement storage 2 monoblock silos with a capacity of 120 tons were installed. Over the mixer, a galvanized aggregate holding hopper that collects sand and gravels for the next batch was installed.

This project, the timely completion of which was crucial for the Belgian partner, was completed without any delay, which once again confirms Elkon's strong position as a reliable partner.
