Using state-of-the-art material and unique interior design concepts, this ideological retreat reflects the high-standards and expectations of the occupants.

Located in Pune and spanning across an area of 1000 sqm, this sumptuous and fashionable bungalow is a stunning amalgamation of luxury and elegance designed for an intergenerational family. The client, a family-oriented gentleman having numerous friends and peers, requested a chipper home that is clutter-free and easily serve as a great place to host guests and extended family for occasions and celebrations.

Being a second home for the client, the client's brief simply called for an ultra-luxurious and larger than life biological retreat with an interesting and charismatic ambience. The notion was to achieve the perfect fusion of minimalism and regalism to give the inhabitants an inordinate delight.

One might enter this beguiling house and savour the feel of opulence and grace at the same time.

Pockets of different types of seating, reflecting contemporary sophistication, spread across the entire living and connected dining area. A stunning skylight above the dining area adds an element of surprise and wonder.

The wall treatment fabricated with wooden louvres lends an elegant vibe while conceding entry to a magnificent bedroom and powder toilet. This bedroom is designed for the client's grandparents where the interior scheme resonates with their personal choices and desires. A four-poster bed, a vast study and comfortable loungers were all bestowed in the room keeping in mind the reading habits and other requirements of the users. The brick wallpaper and wooden flooring used for the entire design scheme resonate their grounded character and strong values. The washroom is provided with an artificial green wall and a skylight.

A glamorous informal seating area on the left of the entrance door is reflective of valour and amiability. The complete area ushers a gleaming vibe through the leather used as the overall material palette. The carpet laid here is made of horse leather. The wooden rafters serve as the backdrop brilliantly installed at an angle allowing the fluidity of the space in terms of vision between the spaces.

Moving further inside, on the right is an enormous double-height dining table with a background wall displaying a flight of butterflies. This blue textured wall is both amorous and picturesque. A gigantic staircase on the left of the dining area meanders over to the upper floor. An open to sky cantilevered passage on the first floor is directed towards the home theatre cum family lounge where one can endure a complete theatre experience with recliners or enjoy intimate family time. The 50 feet long balcony on this floor is designed to rejuvenate, as it displays the picture-perfect scenic view of the sunset beyond the lush greens of the backyard.

The contour and landscape are rendered in such a fashion that the bedrooms at the upper levels encompass enormous projections creating a dialogue with the outdoors. The house exhibits immense character but with a reassuring sense of comfort and warmth.

Using state-of-the-art material and unique interior design concepts, this ideological retreat reflects the high-standards and expectations of the occupants. This, along with the transitional colour palette and unique and purposefully chosen decor elements, make this residence truly one of a kind.

Designers Group

For the last 25 years, Designers Group remains keenly attuned to the pulse of changing industry trends and are in sync with today's rapidly evolving ideas of sophisticated living, design, comfort and luxury. Over the years they have achieved an excellent combination of design and materials blending both in perfect harmony to produce a superior end result. Their projects continue to hold the visual appeal even after several years as they have a balance of practicality and creativity. They have been in the industry for 20 years and over 10 years in the hospitality sector. The Designers Group let their work speak for themselves. The creative hub of modern, aesthetic interior design and architecture Designers Group focuses on the optimal and functional utility of a space. From a modest garage which functioned as their studio in the early years to the current spacious one, vibrating with energy and enthusiasm, Designers Group's journey has been a long and successful one.

Sujata Chitalwala, the foundation and the strong standing pillar of the company Designers Group, celebrates the success of her company with Ar. Khozema Chitalwala since its establishment in 1989. Graduated and trained as a textile designer and later as an Interior Designer from Rachna Sansad in the year 1985, Chitalwala manages and guides the design team at the firm. She has always had a flair for aesthetics and material and ensures her work activates a sense of touch and sight. Her vibrant and colourful personality evidently reflects in her practice as she works day in and day out putting the perfect mood boards together for her clients. Her vision for Designers Group is to make it a company that can become a holistic consultancy for the hospitality sector. To that end, she sees herself growing into a role where she can lead the team to accessorize the projects. In the year 1996-97, Designers Group was introduced to a few hospitality consultants and Sujata Chitalwala found the process of creating a new identity for each project which was very challenging and stimulating. For instance, The Taj Group of hotels turned out to be the flagship project as Designers Group appointed the local consultant for the entire remodelling scheme which gave a good glimpse into their expertise and experience.

Presently, Designer's Group is the only firm with core hospitality practice. Their long-term objective is to build an international repute and to establish a niche for themselves so as to inspire the new-gen architects. Also, currently, a lot of hospitality brands consider Indian design firms lesser than the international practices, their aim is to break that perception and prove that Indian design fraternity is as superior as any other practice on a global level. The firm's work has been published by various design-led publications including Hotelier India, Society Interiors, IFJ etc. Placing its stalwart in the design fraternity, Designers Group today is associated with multitudinous national and international hotel brands.
