What are the major demand drivers for crushing and screening plants and equipment? How is the current market scenario?
There is huge investment happening in the infrastructure sector. This implies that there is bound to be more production of aggregates and M-sand and hence, I see a bright future for the crushing and screening industry, as a whole. The demand for crushing and screening equipment will be on the rise. I see more customers opting for customisation to improve their plant efficiency. There is also a visible rise in demand for mobile equipment. The market has also opened up for smaller plants to be used in hilly regions and more such challenging terrains. The ‘Make-In-India’ initiative has given impetus to the manufacturing sector and undoubtedly, India is emerging as the top manufacturing hub in the world.
How do you view the demand for different types of crushing plants?
As said earlier, there is lot of activity happening in the mining and infra space and hence, the demand is bound to rise. The aggregates industry in India is one of the biggest in the world and India is one of the largest global consumers of aggregates.
What is the demand-supply scenario of crushers and screens in quarry and mining applications?
There is visible awareness among people about depleting natural resources. There are also restrictions imposed on using natural river sand. This is pushing the plant owners to produce high-quality manufactured sand and this in turn leads to optimisation of plants in the aggregates business. The demand-supply scenario is a keen one to watch out for in this industry. While M-sand producers are promising consistent supply of M-sand to job sites as per the specifications, manufacturers are also implementing latest technologies into their sand producing equipment and promoting the same. The market size of crushers and screens is estimated to be approximately Rs 30 billion per year. This includes both organised and unorganised sectors. Here, we are only talking about aggregates which is 100-350 TPH and above. This is sure to increase after the election results in June.
What is the demand scenario from the manufactured sand (M-sand) segment?
Every state is bringing out its own M-sand policy. This explains the importance M-sand is gaining now. The demand for quality M-sand is very much prevalent in the market. It is certainly a booming industry.
