In the northern part of India, in the mountainous region at the height of 12,400 ft as an esteemed customer of MB Crusher was dealing with a remote and challenging site.

The A1 class road contractor was awarded a 12 km road construction project intended to connect two urban locations. The approach road, once prepared, is expected to boost economic activities in the region, but since the area is covered entirely with mountainous terrain, installing and running a static crusher is extremely difficult.

Hence, they proceeded to obtain the necessary approval from the authority to use the hill rock for producing aggregates (that are 65 mm, 45 mm, 20 mm, 10 mm, and dust material) from the boulder size of approximately 350 mm. They had already deployed a JCB JS140 excavator with a rock breaker at their site.

To help them in meeting their aggregates requirements, they had also installed a crusher plant near to the project site.

However, this solution presented few problems due to the hilly terrain: the availability of electricity was poor and they had to rely completely on diesel generator (DG) set to run the crusher plant. This was resulting in an increased cost of production of aggregates for the project.

Since the project site location was in such a high altitude, they were also facing difficulties in deploying other heavy equipment and machinery at their site to help them accelerate the overall process.

For the major part of the year, the project site is covered up in snow leaving behind nearly three months in a year for full-fledged construction-related works. They had also deployed manual labours at their site to help them complete the project but fatigue became a factor due to bad weather conditions. Owing to these reasons, they were behind the expected schedule.

After all that, they immediately decided to formalize the order right then and there for a crusher bucket model BF60.1, suitable for excavators from 10 tons up.
