With more than 80 years of experience in research, development, and production of high-performance silicone and specialty materials, Momentive products play a vital role in the success of new construction and restoration projects across diverse environments and climates.
Solutions include Elemax™ air & water-resistive barrier coatings, Enduris™ roof coatings, Optic™ and SilShield™ architectural coatings, SilPruf™ weatherseal sealants, UltraGlaze™ structural silicone glazing sealants, Edgesil™ insulating glass sealants, and general-purpose sealants such as GE2000™, Winsil20™, AP3600, and GlassMate ™.
How do your solutions provide enhanced performance and desired results for the customers?
The Momentive range of high-performance sealants and coatings is used to weatherproof, insulate, and protect every element of the building envelope.
Momentive construction sealants and coatings are inherently resistant to degradation caused by UV rays, rain, snow, and wind. They can withstand severe temperatures, staying flexible in the cold and stable in the heat (up to 180°C). Our coatings and sealants can bond to most materials and help prevent damaging water leaks.
For the façade and glazing market, our UltraGlaze™ structural glazing sealants offer benefits such as superior design tensile strength, which allows a small amount of sealant to bond a giant insulated glazing unit to the building’s curtain wall. Our EdgeSil™ insulating glass sealants are suitable for gas-filled IG units with and without inserts, allowing superior building insulation without obstructing the view. Our Silpruf™ and Pensil™ weather sealants offer protection against the elements while being fire resistant.
The Momentive silicone coatings portfolio includes Enduris™ roof coatings, Optic™ translucent architectural coatings, Silshield™ architectural and corrosion protection coating, and Elemax™ air and water resistive barrier. All these are based on a 100% alkoxy platform and offer application and performance benefits, including primerless application, no need for mixing, exceptional UV and weather resistance, and best-in-class elongation.
Neutral cure and MEKO-free, they’re suitable for a range of substrates while being applicator-friendly.
Who are your major customers in roofing applications? What is your strategy in customer satisfaction and growth?
Momentive primarily focuses on roofing contractors, facility managers and building owners, primarily in the commercial and industrial segment, with large roofs that need to be restored, maintained and treated without halting underlying operations. This is in line with our global growth strategies for this product category.

Enduris™ roof coatings protect and extend roof life in even the most demanding environments, protecting flat roofs from dramatic temperature extremes, daily UV exposure, and water. The 100% silicone formula is stable, resilient, and flexible, allowing the coating to expand and contract with the roof from day one and for years to come.
The primerless, single-coat application saves time, effort, and cost, providing up to 20 years of guaranteed protection.

We’re also focusing on the mega-trends of Sustainability and Climate Change, where some of our products offer real benefits. For example, Enduris™ roof coating can be used to extend the life of a roofing system by several decades. This avoids complete re-roofing, which reduces the amount of potential landfill waste. Applied in white, Enduris roof coating
can be used as a cool roof coating, helping to save on cooling costs in the summer and reducing strain on air conditioning systems. This can improve energy efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint of a building.

The Indian construction industry is fast growing and is slated to become the third largest in the world. Momentive is continuously monitoring industry developments and keeping tabs on key megatrends.
