How do you view the emerging market trends for lights and switches?

The lighting industry is undergoing a significant transformation driven by technological advancements and sustainability trends. We are witnessing an increasing demand for smart, energy-efficient, and aesthetically pleasing lighting solutions. At Signify, we are committed to leading this change by delivering innovative and sustainable lighting solutions that cater to the evolving needs of our consumers. Innovation is the cornerstone of our work at Signify. We are constantly exploring new ways to enhance the user experience and push the boundaries of what’s possible with lighting. Few of our most recent innovations are: 
A smart connected product - NatureConnect is an industry-first product that utilises biophilic design principles, by harnessing elements of nature to create healthier indoor environments. With an aim to transition towards a sustainable and circular economy, NatureConnect’s innovative lighting technology offers diverse applications throughout the hospitality sector. NatureConnect mimics the natural rhythm of sunlight, promoting a healthier circadian rhythm, improved mood, enhanced focus, and better sleep quality
In line with our commitment to provide energy-efficient solutions to customers across India, we introduced our power-packed new range of Ecolink fans. Through research, we have actioned what our consumers want and created a range of fans that combines cutting-edge technology to deliver superior performance and energy savings. With models like AiroGeometry and AiroJewel, we have incorporated unique designs and features such as LED speed indicators, BLDC technology, and inverter compatibility to ensure an exceptional user experience.
Regarding the growing demand for smart lighting solutions in India, we are capitalizing on the opportunity by providing innovative products like our Philips Wiz, which allows consumers to personalize their lighting experience. Our Philips Wiz range also supports voice-controlled operation with all major voice assistants, while AI provides intelligent scheduling and adaption to daylight patterns.
We are investing in R&D to further enhance this technology and make it more accessible to our customers. At Signify, we continue to focus on creating innovative, sustainable, and smart lighting solutions that cater to the evolving needs of our customers. What are the energy efficiency features in your range of lights?

Sustainability is a cornerstone of Signify’s product offerings due to growing customer demand for eco-friendly solutions. Hence, the commitment to reducing environmental impact by promoting energy-efficient products and sustainable practices. Energy efficiency is not just a feature of our products at Signify, it's an integral part of our design philosophy. For instance, our range of LED lights, such as the Philips Master LED series, are designed to consume up to 80% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs, without compromising on light quality. Similarly, our Philips GreenPower LED production module is specifically developed for horticulture applications and provides highly efficient lighting that supports plant growth while minimizing energy usage. Our Solar LED street lighting solutions like the Philips SunStay, combine solar panels, luminaires, charge controllers, and batteries in one housing, making them cost-effective and easy-to-install sustainable solutions for remote areas with no grid connectivity. These examples reflect our commitment to creating products that not only meet our customer’s needs but also contribute positively to the environment. Our biggest example of sustainability products we offer would be our recent launch of NatureConnect lighting which enhances indoor environments sustainably through energy-efficient, biophilic design principles that minimize environmental impact.

How are designs evolving in lights and switches in terms of looks and aesthetics?  

In terms of design evolution, we’re witnessing a shift towards more minimalistic and functional designs that complement modern architectural aesthetics. We launched our Ecolink range of revolutionary range of energy-efficient fans. The innovative product line combines advanced technology with superior performance, offering consumers a breath of fresh air in any space. At Signify, we’re at the forefront of this trend, creating lighting solutions that are not only functional but also enhance the overall ambiance of a space. For instance, our Philips Luminous textile panels integrate multi-colored LEDs within textile panels to create mood-enhancing environments. Another example is our Philips OneSpace luminous ceiling which integrates LED lights into acoustic ceiling panels, providing uniform light that eliminates shadows and gives the feeling of natural daylight. Similarly, our Philips Ledalite EyeLine suspended office luminaire combines sleek design with innovative LED technology for a visually striking and energy-efficient lighting solution. These examples demonstrate our commitment to blending aesthetics with functionality in our product designs.

How do you look at the future growth trends in lights and switches? What are your growth plans?

The future growth trends in lights and switches point towards increased digitization and personalization. As the world becomes more connected, we expect to see a greater demand for smart lighting solutions that can be controlled remotely and customized to individual preferences. With the rise of IoT and connected devices, we foresee a significant demand for smart lighting solutions. These solutions offer benefits like energy efficiency, convenience, and enhanced functionality. They can be controlled remotely, programmed to operate on schedules, and even respond to changes in ambient conditions. We envision a future where light is not just about illumination but also about delivering new experiences and value to our customers.
