GHITORNI FARM HOUSE - AN URBAN OASIS.

The design gives us a glimpse of holistic and sustainable design in the middle of the city, which calls for solace and tranquility.

The urban oasis, calls out for a rejuvenating experience through the scorching heat of Delhi, and its chilly winters. There are welcoming transition spaces between the outside lush green lawns into the warm interiors, through a water body and blue textured fountains, this exquisite farmhouse is situated in Ghitorni, New Delhi.

The string connection of rooms essentially makes the main living spaces.  Each designated with a single enclosure of extensive, transitional and preserved view respectively in response to the green landscape outside.

The farm house has small break out spaces of swimming pool, landscape area which makes it possible for the user to have relief during the scorching heat in the months of April to October.

Rustic and rugged, a sophisticated amalgamation of traditional and contemporary architecture, knitted into a house. With rectilinear planning, and a spat of bright yellow color, calling you indoors is the farm house in Delhi.

Two- story rectilinear structure with living, dining, kitchen, and bedrooms rather than a crude constituted structure, was constructed with the sense of contemporary touch, with the feel of traditional interiors.

The antique and rugged look which calls for a space that gives us an ambiance that is difficult to find in today's modern era, to find such amalgamation of rogue, rustic with contemporary architecture. The thought of carrying it along, with wooden furniture, antiquities, and other such lush greens, we find a perfect escape from the daily life,

Special Features

The swimming pool which is positioned in the south west side of the farm house, wind direction being from South east to North West; it passes over the water body before entering the built form hence cooling down the hot currents to soft cool breeze amorphously creating a micro climate.

The hanging pot plants, and the porch is conditioned such that it is beside the swimming pool, where a window overlooks swimming pool, and the lush green area, with the landscape directing the micro-climate of the residence.

Wooden Staircase: The wooden stair case in the farmhouse is positioned in the corner, of the living area, it does not eat up the space, but beautifies it furthermore, by giving the space a cottage essence. The wooden staircase makes the space look elegant and clean.

Wooden Flooring: the wooden deck flooring in batten patterns makes the space look simplistic and minimalistic, it does not distract the user, but gives significance to th4e furniture and the lights.

The elegant walkway through the wooden flooring and the exposed brick wall, which brings out the contemporary feature of architecture with the antique complimenting of the same.

With the aesthetic and ambiance of the space, the living room looks a like an ancient royal while you walk into the space with a materials such as brick, wooden furniture and yellow lights.

The Dining Room: The exclusivity of the diffused north light cannot be found everywhere, it has to have an objective where the table with a glazed glass is placed while designing the house.

There is a relatively greener segment in the house, and which is connected to the dining room. It gives you the idea connection with the nature, while sitting indoors.

The interiors have been planned such that they complement the look of wooden material, and antique chandelier together.

This frame, with the columns, and the extended porch, encapsulates the frame and identity of the wall, with windows ensuring the look of a leisure home to match with the contemporary architecture, drawing a rectilinear skyline.

The door frames makes us reminisce the old architecture, with the shaded entrance of the porch, with the symmetrical facade and allowance of welcoming entrance through the gate into the Shah home.

The Rustic Look of the Living Hall

While living in the modern contemporary age, we go for the shimmery and glittery look, Mr. Shah took a step and a leap into the antiquity of the living like a modern sage.

Display units in the living area integrate within an exposed brick concealed wall which draws one attention to its modesty. The whole experience living in this home is experiencing wholeness towards nature. The rustic amalgamated with the brick wall, and wooden furniture brings out a look which is associated better with the vogue look of interiors. When the spaces are illuminated the furniture expels a plethora of colors, ranging from mellow browns, to warm yellows - eccentric blue and royal purple. These colors add value to the religious prayer space in the corner, advocating calmness and spirituality in top then household.

Climatological Aspects to the Leisure Home

The Ghitorni farm house not only gives the replenishing ambiance, but the climatological aspects are too, taken care of.

The north-east has the bedroom, and living area, while the Kitchen garden and the sky-lit dining room is also in the north, providing with North Diffused light.

The swimming pool is placed amidst the wind direction, where the wind from the south-east to north-west travel, therefore providing cool air in the house, with the help of passive techniques such as landscape and the swimming pool.
