Kindly brief us about your company.

The KariGhars is the leading interior design firm in Bangalore. Founded in 2009 by the entrepreneur par excellence - Abhishek Chadha, we undertake complete turnkey projects for villas and apartments. In addition to that, we customize wardrobes, entertainment units, modular kitchens and built-in furniture to fit the space and style of a project. With a vision to transform the ordinary into sensational spaces, we conceptualize, curate and choose cohesive color palettes that further enhance the aesthetics of the expanse. We diligently work on the principle of minimalism- 'Less is More' and keep intricate details to a minimum, instead of incorporating popular materials. Our design philosophy revolves around the fluidity of contemporary interior design amalgamated with a touch of mid-century modern styles.

Brief us about the Founder/CEO and his/her contribution to the upliftment of the company.

Abhishek graduated from Delhi University as a Bachelor of Science. Hardworking and tenacious, he aced all his subjects and topped the university. He started his career in 2001 as a lecturer in Indonesia, teaching IT. Later he moved to Bangalore as a senior software engineer and made his way forward as the VP where he worked on UX & UI. It was during this time that Abhishek and his better half, Aashita got the interiors of their home done. The whole experience left them exasperated and motivated with a desire to start their design firm. With the intent to bring a glorious customer experience and fresh design perspective to the table, they laid the foundation of 'The KariGhars'. Aashita Chadha, the CFO of 'The KariGhars' came up with the distinctive name of the firm and contributes inherently to the design ideology.

Soon Abhishek realized his firm's tremendous potential and that is when he got his brother, Vinayak on board. Together, they are a force to reckon with! Abhishek's source of inspiration has always been the needs and desires of his clients. He treats every project as a challenge and tries his best to meet their expectations. A learner and observer by nature, he absorbs information and tries to implement it in his designs. All his designs have a provision for storage and functionality but also come with his unique design style and an element of creativity.

For his immense contribution in the field of Interior Design, he has been felicitated with a plethora of awards namely, 'Most Creative Interior Designing firm in Bangalore, 'Company of the Year Award by Silicon India', The Best Interior Design Services Award 2011 for Residential projects in Bangalore received from Dr. Shashi Tharoor', 'Entrepreneurship Excellence Awards 2012′ and the list is endless. Apart from being the most sought-after designer in Bangalore, Abhishek is a multi-faceted man with exemplary entrepreneurial skills.

What was the source of inspiration for your company to be in the interior design solution providersspace?

Our own experience of getting our house designed by an interior designer lead us to take the plunge in this niche of design. The field needs a consolidated level of professionalism and accountability which we have observed, is missing. When we cater to the interiors of a house we commit ourselves fully, until we achieve client satisfaction. We absolutely make sure to give the client a whole experience, making sure that they are on board every step of the way. At the end of the day, a happy client gives you ravishing reviews and when others follow suit. That is when we know we have hit the bull's eye. That is how we grew. That is how we are a 250+ group now.

How would you describe your company in one-word or one-sentence?

What is the current scenario of interior design landscape, from your point of view? With the massive tech-enabled advancements, what are the opportunities and challenges evolving with it?

I feel like this is a perfect time for interior designers and other firms like ours, we have actually increased our capacity to 200 percent staff. We see a real need for luxury homes booming in the industry. People want to have well-designed interiors because our homes have become the most important parts of our lives. We do our best to incorporate all the latest technology that comes in the market, for instance, smart homes and state-of-the-art equipment implemented. The real challenge is to implement sustainable development in the design of every home. Major factors like planning, efficient use of space, choosing materials with low carbon footprint and reducing energy consumption, pollution and waste play an important role in executing sustainable practices. The notion of the 'green home' has taken form and warrants the need to exchange environmentally damaging materials with eco-friendly resources.

Our Mission: We intend to establish The KariGhars as the premier design firm in India while maintaining our unyielding ideals. Our guiding principles ensure that we convey a passion for the client and consistently deliver the greatest possible service experience; apply the highest standards of design excellence, and continually strive to enhance our contributions to the community.

Our Vision: To create a memorable brand experience for our clients while enhancing the quality of life for everyone we serve.Our sole ambition is to make The KariGhars a brand name that is synonymous with opulence and grandeur.

What is your success mantra?

My success mantra is a perfect balance that needs to be maintained between the client's brief & my own creative expression. My source of inspiration has always been the needs and desires of my clients that propels me to design something that stays with them forever. I treat every project as a challenge and try my best to meet their expectations. As a learner and observer by nature, I absorb information and implement it in my designs. All my designs have a provision for form and functionality but also come with a unique design style and an element of creativity.

According to you, what are the essentials of being a good interior designer?

An eye for detail and passion for design is a must to become a good designer. Look for inspiration in everything and get to know your clients. Perfection is a series of small things done right. I love to see the look on my client's faces when we successfully execute their dream house into reality. I truly love what I do and put the best foot forward.
