We firmly believe that aluminium will be at the heart of building a resilient, greener India.
Aluminium is rapidly becoming a material of choice in construction due to its unique combination of strength, lightness, corrosion resistance, and recyclability.

How is aluminium gaining prominence in the construction industry?
Aluminium is rapidly becoming a material of choice in construction due to its unique combination of strength, lightness, corrosion resistance, and recyclability. With growing urbanization and sustainability focus, developers and architects are seeking materials that offer design flexibility, durability, and a lower environmental footprint; all of which aluminium delivers. Whether it’s facades, windows, doors, roofing, kitchens, or even structural formwork, aluminium’s ability to support innovative designs while reducing lifecycle costs makes it a natural fit for modern construction needs.
How is Hindalco playing a major role in the use of aluminium products in infrastructure and real estate projects?
At Hindalco, we are helping reimagine construction possibilities with aluminium. Our integrated capabilities — from mining to manufacturing to fabrication — allow us to offer a wide portfolio of aluminium solutions tailored for infrastructure and real estate. Through brands like Eternia for premium windows and facades, Everlast for roofing, and now Hindalco Kitchens, we are providing customers with superior products that combine aesthetics, performance, and sustainability. In addition, we are supporting faster and more efficient construction through aluminium formwork systems, which offer higher productivity, better finish quality, and reduced material wastage at construction sites. Whether it is high-rise buildings, metro systems, or commercial complexes, Hindalco aluminium is helping build India’s future skyline.
How is sustainability in the construction industry driving demand for aluminium products and solutions?
Sustainability has moved from a “good to have” to a “must have” in construction, and aluminium plays a central role in this shift. Hindalco’s aluminium is inherently sustainable, it is infinitely recyclable without loss of quality. In fact, recycled aluminium uses only 5% of the energy needed for primary production. Recognizing this, developers are turning to aluminium solutions to reduce embodied carbon in their projects. Our low-carbon products, backed by strong ESG credentials, help customers achieve green building certifications like LEED and IGBC. Additionally, aluminium formwork contributes to greener construction by reducing timber usage and promoting reusability. We are also actively partnering with customers to design for recyclability at the end of the building’s lifecycle, truly closing the loop.
What are the innovations from Hindalco in aluminium roofing systems?
Roofing is an area where Hindalco has brought several innovations. Our Everlast brand offers a range of high-performance aluminium roofing sheets that are corrosion-resistant, lightweight, easy to install, and available in aesthetic designs and colors. Recently, we introduced advanced multi-layer coated sheets designed to offer superior weather resistance and thermal performance — ideal for India’s diverse climates. We are also piloting integrated solar roofing systems in collaboration with technology partners, combining the benefits of green energy and durable roofing into a single solution. By innovating not just on material but at the system level, we aim to offer customers value beyond just the roof.
How are you meeting the emerging customer needs in aluminium doors, windows, and interiors?
The Indian consumer is evolving — they demand solutions that are stylish, durable, energy-efficient, and sustainable. With Eternia windows and facades, we are addressing these expectations with a focus on performance and personalization. Eternia products are made with Duranium, a specially developed alloy offering superior strength and weather resistance, tested to international standards.
Recognizing the growing demand for sustainable, durable interiors, we have recently expanded into aluminium kitchens. These kitchens will offer a modern, hygienic, termite-proof, and fire-resistant alternative to conventional modular kitchens. They are fully customizable and designed for the evolving needs of urban Indian homes and commercial spaces, combining beauty with resilience.
What are your expansion plans in aluminium and copper? How are you visualizing sustainability in the construction industry with aluminium?
Hindalco has an ongoing capex plan of over Rs 45,000 crore being executed in India. In downstream we have projects across a spectrum of applications EVs, bicycle components, ACP, packaging and especially building and construction continues to be a key focus area. We are expanding capacity in aluminium extrusions, establishing new lines for precision fabrication, enhancing our offerings in coated flat-rolled products, and venturing into new lifestyle applications such as kitchens and modular systems.
We are also scaling up our aluminium formwork and facade solutions to help drive faster, cleaner, and more efficient building practices. In copper and aluminium, we continue to strengthen our portfolio in busbars, rods, and high-conductivity components that are critical for smart infrastructure and energy-efficient systems.
Sustainability is at the core of all these expansions. We are increasing the use of recycled aluminium, investing in energy-efficient technologies, and offering products that enable lower-carbon construction. We firmly believe that aluminium will be at the heart of building a resilient, greener India — from faster project execution using aluminium formwork to beautiful, durable homes with aluminium doors, windows, facades, roofs and kitchens. At Hindalco, we are committed to engineering a better, sustainable future for the construction industry and beyond.
