How do you assess the growth trends in logistics / warehousing sector? 

There are four sectors that are driving growth in logistics and they are retail, e-commerce, pharma and food & beverages. The logistics associated with these sectors are showing growth despite Covid-19. 

What is the transformative impact of automation and digitalization on warehousing sector? 

Automation and digitisation are here to stay and they are certainly the way forward. Earlier, the storage system was the primary article of interest in any warehouse and other systems used to be built around it. Today, KPIs like throughput drive decisions and automation and digitisation are the major solutions with storage systems becoming just a part of overall solutions.

What has been the impact of the same while designing aftermarket support systems? 

Life Cycle Services - A service that ensures safety audit and periodic preventive maintenance is being sought after more and more by customers and now plays a major role in ensuring customer satisfaction.

What is the bearing of emerging trends like omnichannel logistics platforms?

Omnichannel logistics platforms have transformed the way we work. These customers are much more time conscious and for them opportunity cost is high. BY gearing up to meet stringent SLAs, we have been forced to evolve into a more sophisticated and tech-oriented solution provider

Could you brief us on the trends in storage / shelving systems? 

There are two main trends - palletised storage is becoming standardised with each passing day, and multi-tier / shelving systems are becoming highly technology oriented with plenty of embedded technology like IoT.

We are seeing the evolution of multi million square feet multi-tier storage systems with a high degree of integration with technology.

Brief us on the measures taken to support your customers during this crisis?

Some of the measures we have initiated are use of technology for sharing real time update on project status; making customer a part of our decision making process to remove apprehensions and uncertainties, and strict implementation of Covid protocol at our plant and at installation sites.

How geared up Godrej Storage Solutions to meet the challenges in the post Covid era?

We have moved away from being a mere racking supplier to a turnkey solution provider including integration of automation thereby gearing up to adapt positively to changing needs and expectations of the market.
