Schwing Stetter India has unveiled a slew of concreting & construction machinery with newer technology
The National Infrastructure Pipeline programme is an excellent initiative by the government which had an outlay of Rs 111 lakh crore, exclusively for infrastructure development. The Bharath Mala and Sagar Mala projects are one of the biggest investments in the NIP which has been reinforced by the GatiShakti project under which the government aims to build a robust high-speed road network across the country. The progress of these schemes will result in India becoming world's second-largest road network with a total of over 62 lakh km road connectivity. SCHWING Stetter India is proud to have supported many construction companies with the finest concreting and construction machinery in this endeavour.

How do you view the infrastructure developments happening currently under the National Infrastructure Pipeline plans?
How is the company contributing to the country's infrastructure development?
SCHWING Stetter India has been a synonymous brand name when it comes to concreting and construction machinery. Our record-breaking engineering has helped us retain a top position in the CE industry in the past two decades. Our concrete batching plants in H2.25 capacities, M30 and other variations along with transit mixers and concrete pumps have been heavily inducted in large scale projects. Our 36- and 43-m boom pumps have also been in demand for Bharath Mala projects and hydro power projects across the country. Apart from the concrete machinery, our earthmoving equipment from XCMG like excavators, wheel loaders, motor graders and piling rigs have found a huge space in projects that come under NIP.
How does sustainability play a key role in your products and operations?
Sustainability has been a keyword to watch in the manufacturing industry for a considerable amount of time now and SCHWING Stetter India has taken huge steps towards accomplishing the green mission. We have been in the forefront in designing and providing environment-friendly construction and concreting equipment for the green mission and hence our design team has been tuned to the present global requirements. Products from the SCHWING range like concrete re-cycling plants and sludge pumps are equipment solely employed for waste management. Our latest and almost completely automated manufacturing facility at Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu is a prime example of our commitment towards developing green technology and a sustainable production process that matches the requirements of the rising trends in the CE industry.
What is your current manufacturing capacity in India? What are your plans to scale up production in future?
SCHWING Stetter India has its head office and premier manufacturing facilities in SIPCOT Industrial Park, Irungattukottai, near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. We created our first base in 2001 and then developed three more manufacturing facilities within a short period of time. Our facility titled F71 is assigned for XCMG product Assembly Line, D6 is the manufacturing facility for truck mixers with a production rate of 3,500 units per annum, G12 is dedicated manufacturing batching plants of various capacities with a production rate of 700 units per annum and F75 is assigned for the assembly of XCMG sub-assemblies.
We recently added the Global manufacturing Hub (GmH) which is located at Cheyyar, near Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu to the fold to meet the requirements of our export and domestic markets. The 55-acre GmH facility has the capacity to produce 9,000 units of self-loading mixers and other equipment like boom pumps, stationary pumps, and shotcrete pumps. This facility is built with the capacity to expand in the upcoming years through capital spending from SCHWING Stetter India.
What are the opportunities for Schwing Stetter and its solutions in the upcoming market scenario?
The keen initiatives from the government with the inclusion of connectivity projects in the GATI SHAKTI scheme and the introduction of National Infrastructure Pipeline program have created a good demand drive for concrete machinery and are setup to facilitate higher demand in the future. The YoY growth is expected to increase by 20-25% with the metros and high-speed rail projects becoming the real differentiating factor. Various machines from SCHWING Stetter India already have been incorporated with IoT and other tech features to ensure that our customer receives the finest product in the industry. Our R&D team is set on introducing more material upgrades and tech updates to our concrete machine range which can provide economic solutions for the rising trends in the market.
How do you assess the growth of Indian construction equipment industry?
We understand that the economy has taken a crucial hit during the past two years and has become comparatively slower, but the construction equipment industry has been doing well for the past two years with no dip in demand. SCHWING Stetter India expects to keep up the performance while expecting the market to continue its good run for the coming 3-4 years. Our machinery has been actively deployed in infra projects, metro rail projects, high-speed rail projects and hydro-power projects which are still on the rise with the promise of a bright future for construction equipment.
How is the company drawing its growth plans?
SCHWING Stetter India, foreseeing the increasing demand in the CE industry, has had the foresight to inaugurate our global manufacturing hub in Cheyyar in the year 2020 amid the pandemic. The fully functional 55-acre facility will not only cater to the domestic requirement but also to the international market. With its R&D center in place, SCHWING Stetter India has already unveiled a slew of concreting and construction machinery with newer technology equipment and higher capacities in the boom pumps and batching plants.
