Excon awarded “Top B2B Exhibition in India”

As India's major Industry association, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) plays a critical role in boosting India's inclusive growth and economic development by partnering with government, Industry and civil society.

In recognition of its outstanding work in business development through Exhibitions, the Indian Exhibition Industry Association (IEIA) conferred on CII three awards at a glittering ceremony in Hyderabad on 10 May 2018.

CII won the first prize in India's Top B2B Exhibition category for its flagship event EXCON. It received the 1st runner-up prize for India's Top B2C exhibition for Auto Expo and was recognised as one of India's top 10 exhibition organisers. The awards were jointly presented by IEIA and the Economic Times.

CII launched EXCON, the International Construction Equipment and Technology Trade Fair and Conference in the year 2000 and Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers' Association (ICEMA) being the sector partner for the event. Since then, EXCON has grown in size and stature and has been the premium platform for the Construction Equipment Industry in SAARC region. EXCON 2017 had 5 country pavilions-China, Germany, Italy, South Korea and UK.

918 exhibitors, which included 281 from abroad, participated in the Exhibition. The Exhibition was attended by 55,224 business visitors (audited by Ufi - the global association of the world's leading tradeshow organisers and fairground owners) covering an area of 2,50,000 sq. mt. EXCON has been the largest Construction Equipment Exhibition in South Asia for the last three consecutive editions.

CII has been at the forefront in organising Trade Fairs and Exhibitions and currently several of its Trade Fairs and Exhibitions are leaders in their category, with maximum participation from Industry.
