How is the company consolidating its presence in the construction and infrastructure sector?

Bajaj Steel Industries Ltd (BSIL) has forayed into multiple engineering product categories to facilitate the customer and provide a one-stop solution for the customer requirements. The consolidation of the downstream operations will enable growth in value added segments by leveraging worldwide marketing and sales network. BSIL is focusing today on getting complete EPC solutions for our valued customers for our multi product line.

We are now a force to recon with in the field of PEB Steel Buildings and the allied civil works. With projects from IOCL, MSWC, NFC and a variety of public and private players, we have established ourselves as a vendor of choice to our customers. BSIL group companies add more vibrancy to the infra EPC projects.

The electrical panel division of our organization can provide all type of electrical panels, MCC panels, PCC panels, control panels, bus trunking etc.

The Fire-Fighting division can provide customized active fire-fighting solutions to cater to different needs of the customers.

BSIL Steel and Fire rated doors are custom built to meet customer specification. Our Fire rated doors are CBRI certified to withstand 120 mins of fire.

We also provide roof-top and ground mounted Solar power solutions and we are a system integrator for industrial and commercial HVAC solutions from Mitsubishi Electric. This just goes to show how; BSIL Infrastructure is enhancing its presence in the EPC segment.

What are the latest innovations and solutions from the company in steel buildings?

BSIL has always been a supplier of choice for their steel buildings, providing state-of-the-art, optimally designed steel buildings manufactured with high standards of accuracy using advanced CNC and SPM machines. We have seen our growth getting consolidated with each passing year and newer market segments opening up to our product range. In view of this, we are also expanding our manufacturing base. A new plant is coming up at Nagpur to add substantial capacity to our production line. We are also venturing into unchartered structures like high-rise buildings, food processing industry, cold storage industry, pharmaceutical and medical industries, hospital buildings, schools and such other highly demanding structures. In sheeting, we are planning to market and supply of aluminium and PET coated sheet in the near future.

Which are the key projects and segments where your solutions are being used?

Bajaj Steel Industries Ltd is an engineering conglomerate continuously evolving and catering to new markets and addressing new segments adding to both the top-line and bottom-line growth. There is a multi-pronged approach towards growth. We ae focused on providing EPC and turnkey solutions to our customers with civil work, PEB structures and allied group products. We are also focusing on new technologies for lightweight structures and more aesthetic looks for greater consumer appeal. We are actively expanding our markets to new geographies. A major focus is on exports with export turnover exceeding 20% of the total turnover of our different divisions like PEB, Electrical Panels, Doors etc.

How is the current demand trend for steel buildings such as PEBs? How do you visualise the future opportunities?

There is a palpable enthusiasm in the construction industry and with the rapid growth in the foreseeable future, the demand for steel buildings is set to grow at a healthy pace. The customer is getting aware of the many possibilities in the PEB domain and we see high double-digit growth in the coming years. The acceptance of PEB structures as a reliable and environment-friendly alternative to conventional RCC structures has given a further boost to the industry. There is also a growing acceptance of PEB structures in here-till unchartered projects like cold storage facilities, school buildings, hospitals, multiple dwelling units (flat schemes), data centres and multi floor facilities.

What are your growth plans ahead in the steel building sector?

Bajaj Steel Industries Ltd Infrastructure Division is poised for a buoyant growth. We are coming up with a new manufacturing facility in addition to our existing facility. New forays are planned for new markets including drawing up an ambitious plan to make our presence felt in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and other places. Products from the group have enhanced our potential to project ourselves as complete turnkey solutions provider.
