How do you visualise the emerging trends in construction industry?

Construction and infrastructure industry in the last couple of decades has been revamped dramatically due to the increased automation, implementation of BIM, development of alternative materials and using the smart construction methods. And this trend would only move NORTH in the years to come. The typical perception of infrastructure projects as labour intensive, long duration, high maintenance and costly affair has changed significantly in the 21st  Century attracting many private investments.

Construction materials segment foresees a promising future. How are you looking at this opportunity for the company in the coming years?

As I mentioned, one of the key factors contributing to the enhanced productivity in construction industry is development of alternative materials or even some cases evolving higher grades within same family of materials.

At Dextra, our sincere approach to innovate our products and solutions to add value to our stakeholders has enabled us to develop composite material segment wherein we specialize in Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer products which serves as an excellent replacement of steel in certain applications such as tunneling, roadways, metros etc. Sustainability and environmental friendliness are the added advantages.

Our engineered bar systems for bridges and marine ports has higher and better grade of materials in carbon and stainless steel which results in optimized design, less tonnage and hence less carbon footprint.

What are the latest solutions from the company in concreting? What are the benefits offered?

Thanks to good momentum in precast construction projects which has popularized our Groutec couplers to a great extent. These are arguably the most reliable splices connecting two precast elements. Our excellent track record in residential, commercial precast buildings, data centers, process plant pipe racks etc explains the beauty of this product. Our glass fiber products such as Rock bolts and Rebars with superior technical properties, 100+ years life and yet being cost competitive is truly a game changer initiative.

How are your products supporting the ground engineering needs?

In ground engineering, we have following range of offerings:

GFRP anchors: Very useful in construction of UG metro stations with excellent cuttability, light weight and economical solution.

GFRP rock bolts: Serves as primary load taking members in NATM tunnels with enhanced durability

GFRP Soft Eye: Used along with steel reinforcement in TBM tunnels to take the benefits of easy cuttability

GFRP Rebars: Durable replacement of small diameter steel bars useful in roadways, crash barriers, slabs at grade, deck of the bridge etc

GFRP Soil nail: Works as a passive anchor in slope stabilization applications.

What kind of growth are you expecting in the year 2023-24?

Our wholehearted support to Make in India reflects through our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in India and also through our unique and sustainable offerings to industry.

To address the rising demands in the coming years, we have some expansion plans in India in active consideration which would be informed to our stakeholders soon.
