How is the construction equipment market growing in India?
Factors like urbanisation, population growth, demand for making high quality infrastructure, combined with Government’s impetus on initiatives such as Bharatmala Pariyojana, Sagarmala, Smart Cities Mission, Bullet Train project and its subsequent focus on building industrial corridors, roads, bridges, ports etc is driving high demand in the construction equipment market. The demand is expected to remain high due to the strong priority on infrastructural projects in India.
What kind of demand are you anticipating for your plants and equipment in the upcoming market scenario?
Due to heavy growth in infrastructural projects like roads, bridges, ports etc, the construction equipment market is experiencing strong demand. There is a strong focus on reliability, efficiency, digitalisation, telematics, IOT, and aspects of sustainability from the customers. The expected demand from them is to incorporate all these aspects with a strong focus on value-for-money along with a very high quality of equipment performance that meets all the regulatory and compliance standards. Increasing emphasis on sustainability and environmental responsibility could create opportunities for companies that produce eco-friendly equipment or offer related services.
How are you meeting the needs of customers in a time-bound and cost-effective way? What could be the challenges and how will you tackle these challenges?
KYB Conmat is one of India’s leading manufacturers of concrete equipment and holds a top three position in most segments, including batching plants (20 cu.m.-240 cu.m. per hour with twin shaft mixing technology), road & canal paving machines, concrete pump, transit mixers, and self-loading mixers. We have a strong customer-centric approach, engaging continuously with our customers, providing exceptional after-sales service through our robust network of regional offices and channel partners.
With heavy focus on R&D backed with strong market research, it enables us to understand the needs of our customers better and serve them with the best products in the market through sustained innovations and improved manufacturing processes. This includes the use of eco-friendly materials and reducing our carbon footprint in the manufacturing process. We have incorporated a variety of digital technologies in our machines. For example, our self-loading concrete mixers are IOT-enabled, BS-4 and ARAI compliant.
We also believe that skilled operators are need of the hour in the industry and hence we also conduct high-quality operator training programs in every region.
The major challenges faced by the industry are availability of skilled manpower, fluctuations in supply chain, meeting various regulatory and emissions standards, and continuously changing customer needs.
