How do you assess the market for plumbing / piping systems for residential and commercial projects and also for drainage and sewerage systems? [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Being vital among other services or products segments, demand for plumbing or piping products is bound to grow continuously. Looking at the huge growth potential and new emerging application segments, there will be increased demand for the quality products. Government's various ambitious projects and programs like 24×7 metered water supply, Har Ghar Nal, sanitation for all, housing for all by 2022 and smart city projects will further boost the growth of the market. Many new applications like HVAC, fire protection systems, piped gas supply, rainwater harvesting systems etc. are also expected to emerge. With this evolving market scenario we are expecting a multifold rise in demand over a period of time.               

Till date the government is focusing on water, but looking at the need for better sanitation requirements, which has major influence on the environment and the health of the society, we think that the government may focus on sanitation sector in the future. As there is huge potential in this segment and plastic piping products being superior to address the difficulties in age old conventional products, they will be largely used for drainage and sewerage applications in times to come and will further boost the market demands.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Has the dip in the realty segment impacted the growth of the plumbing/piping industry?

Realty segment has major influence over the plumbing and piping industry and hence the dip in this segment has impacted the growth to some extent. But the growth and demand in other application segments has partially nullified the impact. However, the ups and downs are the part of the market and we expect it to regain the momentum very soon.

What are trends especially in the material technology?

Technological advancements are evolving with a greater pace especially in terms of material technology. This is mainly due to the rising demands in new application segments, where advanced products and materials are the key requirements to cater to the demands at affordable prices.          

Supreme is no exception to the advancements in the industry, on the contrary we are the pioneers in introducing many path breaking products for many application segments. We have played an instrumental role in the transformation of conventional to advance plastic piping products in the country. Many of our advance products especially in plumbing, drainage, sewerage and sanitation sector have changed the face of the industry and brought in many positive changes.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]What are the trends in installation technologies so as to save time, cost and resources?

There are varieties of installation techniques and technologies available, depending on the material or product. Plastic piping products has proved their significance over conventional products mainly because of their quick and easy jointing methods and convenient installation techniques. Besides, prevailing jointing techniques like solvent welding, rubber ring joints, polyfusion and butt welding jointing etc. crimping, push fit and compression jointing techniques are also gaining wide acceptance.              

What is your take on the codes and standards for plumbing / piping industry?

Irrespective of the type of the project and application segment, codes and standards have important role in executing the projects effectively. It is also important to avoid the wrong installation practices being followed since ages in the absence of right codes and standards. In the past few years time some positive work is being done to develop codes for many products, but still there is a huge scope in this field to complete and simplify the codes for its wide acceptance. Besides, availability of standards and codes another important aspect is strictly following the applicable codes to standardize the installation practices.            [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Smart and eco-friendly technologies have become the norm in most of the business verticals. How does the scenario look like in the plumbing industry?

Nowadays, plastic piping products are widely getting used for plumbing. Plastic piping solution is the eco-friendly solution when compared with the conventional products. It is mainly because of the simple processing and reprocessing, low power consumption in manufacturing, low cost in handling and installation besides, durability, minimal or no maintenance requirements, water tightness of the joints. In addition to this when advance plastic piping products are used as a substitute to conventional products for applications like drainage, sewerage and sanitation, they further add value in terms of eco-friendliness because of their exceptional properties.       

The government had its plans to eliminate the lead content in the pipes in the country. What are the initiatives as a responsible company you have taken?

We are rigorously working on this important aspect and will comply given guidelines in a set time frame. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]What are the major challenges that dent the growth of the plumbing industry?

I think, the slowdown in realty segment, fluctuations in raw material prices, and imports to some extent are some of the challenges before the growth of the plumbing industry. The local manufacturers need to maintain the quality and keep the pace with changing technological trends to compete with global market.

The important products among the portfolio which has the potential to change and influence the market trends includes skyrise hi-tech, low noise premium building drainage system, Nu-drain underground drainage and sewerage system with readymade inspection chambers and manholes, premium quality overhead and underground water storage tanks, readymade septic tanks and C-PVC fire sprinkler system.
