How are the applications of scaffoldings and formworks evolving in the latest construction projects?

Most of the latest bridges, buildings or structures are commonly using the Cuplock Scaffolding and steel formwork. Many construction site engineers are aware of the design and loading parameters for this type of staging and formwork so they are able to manage the inventories and use these materials effectively from the site itself with far better control of the site progress.

What are the recent developments from Uday Structurals & Engineers in the scaffolding and formwork products and solutions?

Uday Structurals & Engineers has been in the forefront of the scaffolding and formwork technology in India since the last 35 years. The systems which UDAY manufactures and exports today are more advanced than the conventional Cuplock Scaffolding and require lesser manpower or are lighter for ease of handling like aluminium scaffoldings. Depending upon the actual application, UDAY is in a position to offer the best scaffolding systems suited for the job from their eight different types of scaffolding designs like Ringlock system, Wedgelock system, Heavy duty Trestle Towers, Aluminium Scaffolding, Cuplock System, H Frames, Suspended Systems or just Tubes and clamps.

UDAY has been serving the formworks market with various options like the steel formwork for infra projects, aluminium formwork for high rise residential towers and the timber H-20 beam formwork system that adopt to any project requirement.

Which are the major segment driving demand for your products and services?

UDAY mostly caters to the specialised scaffolding and formwork requirements from heavy infrastructure or special building projects like nuclear reactors, radiation buildings, heavy or high-roof structures, metro rail projects, bridges, underground tunnels, heavy industrial buildings, aqua ducts, etc. These structures require special design and innovative approach and UDAY with its vast experience in projects is well equipped to deliver in the most optimum cost with the highest safety standards.  

How safety and quality play an important role in your product range?

UDAY during its last 35 years in the industry has consistently delivered high quality and safest products. Customers place the highest confidence in UDAY scaffolding products and its inbuilt safety, which can be summarised by just one example - a BARC project, where UDAY was constructing the reactor's walls and the top dome, they developed systems that enabled BARC to install the main critical equipment of the reactor on the ground level while the slab work above was underway!!! BARC has acclaimed UDAY for its innovative and safe technology and this project of immense national importance saved nearly six months of its construction time!

What are your plans towards bringing in more efficiency in your products to meet the emerging demands?

UDAY has developed formwork systems that eliminate conventional scaffolding in some heavy and tall structures. This saves enormous labour, associated costs and the erection time. UDAY has developed slab formwork for long buildings, where this system can work on electric and hydraulic systems at the slab level, and all finishing activities can be completed on the floor without any obstruction from the scaffoldings. This saves huge time, labour and the cost.
