CASE Construction Equipment

Road construction is gaining pace after slowdown in the last couple of years. How is the demand trend of road equipment in this scenario?

The demand for road construction equipment in India is on an upward trajectory, driven by increased infrastructure investments and the need for efficiency and productivity in major projects. Road construction and expansion of the highway network has been a priority for the government, especially with the implementation of infrastructure projects such as the Bharatmala Pariyojana, the National Infrastructure Pipeline and the Gati Shakti Master Plan. With an aim to make India a global manufacturing hub, the focus is now on providing last-mile connectivity in the country. The long-term commitment of the Indian Government to develop infrastructure together with the strong fundamentals of the domestic economy will drive growth and healthy demand for construction equipment in the industry. CASE Construction Equipment is aligning their offerings to cater to these demands and support the growth of road construction in India.

What kind of technologies and features are gaining traction in the road equipment?

One significant trend is the increasing use of advanced telematics and connectivity. These systems enable real-time monitoring of machine performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules, allowing operators and project managers to optimize operations and improve fuel efficiency. Intelligent control systems are also becoming more prevalent. They provide precise and automated control over various functions, improving accuracy and consistency in operations.

There is also a growing demand for road equipment with enhanced operator comfort and safety features. Manufacturers are focusing on ergonomic designs, improved visibility, and operator-friendly controls to reduce fatigue and improve job site safety.

Sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies are gaining importance. Manufacturers are developing machines that comply with stringent emission standards and utilize cleaner engines, hybrid power systems, and alternative fuels to reduce carbon emissions and minimize environmental impact. At CASE, we have adapted our machines to the BS-CEV IV emission norms and are now preparing for the transition to BS-CEV V emission norms, that are to be introduced in April 2024.

How are advanced features and technologies playing a role in highways and expressway projects? How are you contributing to their requirements?

At CASE Construction Equipment, we understand the crucial role that advanced construction equipment plays in successfully implementing highways and expressway projects. We have integrated advanced features and technologies into our equipment to enhance productivity, accuracy, and operator comfort. Our machines are equipped with state-of-the-art control systems, intelligent hydraulics, and advanced telematics that enable real-time monitoring and optimization of performance. These technologies allow operators to achieve higher levels of efficiency and precision in their operations, resulting in improved project timelines and cost-effectiveness.

To cater specifically to the requirements of highways and expressway projects, we offer a range of specialized equipment such as motor graders, soil compactors, and loader backhoes. These machines are specifically designed to deliver exceptional performance in road construction and maintenance tasks.

What are the steps from you to further improve the efficiency and productivity of your equipment at the project sites?

At CASE Construction Equipment, we are constantly striving to innovate and introduce new features to enhance the performance and efficiency of equipment. Our latest models come equipped with a range of advanced, high quality features.

CASE 845C motor grader in the C-series is an efficient machine that is designed for comfortable operation from the ROPS/FOPS open cab. The motors that generate variable horsepower at 220 rpm - 193HP/205 HP/220 HP, along with the cutting edge moldboard with 22 mm thickness, make the grader ideal to operate on any suitable terrain or operating condition. The cabin is equipped with an adjustable suspension vinyl seat and operator control for ease of accessibility and unobstructed visibility. It also features an electronic information centre that indicates Tachometer readings, Transmission modes (automatic/manual), Engine cooling temperature, fuel level and consumption, Engine and Transmission diagnostics and other features. The machine offers an industry-leading flip-up rear hood for easy functioning of the ripper. These features help make the machine effortlessly serviceable and manageable for any customer.

CASE 952EX soil compactor, with a new diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) system, provides robust after-treatment and up to 5% higher fuel economy.

CASE 1107FX series of soil compactors have a proven and proficient FPT engine that is BS (CEV) IV compliant. It is designed for carefully controlled fuel injection, improved power and torque distribution, easy maneuverability, and higher fuel efficiency. The new auto idle feature also helps in improving fuel efficiency up to 3%.

770 NXe Loader Backhoe is a highly versatile machine that features a cutting-edge electro-hydraulic variable displacement pump, coupled with an electronically controlled FPT S8000 engine. The engine, designed and developed to offer higher productivity, is known for its class leading torque delivery, which provides incomparable performance in tough loader applications with faster response time and high fuel efficiency. The 770 Nxe gives up to 24% fuel efficiency with 26% less maintenance cost and over 10% increase in productivity.

CASE's EX Series Loader Backhoes (770EX and 770EX Plus) are powered by H4C4 electronic engine that delivers powerful performance and fast response time coupled with a 5% higher productivity and fuel savings of up to 13%. The machine is operated in two auto selection modes: ECO mode and One Touch Idle mode, which improves fuel efficiency by up to 6%.
