What is your view on the government's highway network expansion plans?

The highway network expansion plan and investment of Rs 20,000 crore is one of the major road infrastructure initiatives by the Government of India. It will also benefit the construction equipment industry by providing many opportunities. The project will benefit many other industries as well, further strengthening the economy. In addition to offering last mile connectivity, the move will help decrease logistics cost, thereby decreasing transportation costs for the manufacturing sector as well.

What opportunities do you look forward for your range of equipment and solutions in roads & highways?

We anticipate surge in the current demand for equipment as more and more roads and highways projects are announced. With the announcement to expand National Highways, the Gati Shakti Master plan to accelerate road and highway projects as well as rural development projects such as Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana for road construction, there will be a boost in demand of construction and earthmoving equipment. Not only these, associated projects such as Sagarmala, will further the need of such equipment as they are versatile and can be used for multiple applications.

What are the latest solutions from CASE that can play a major role in the faster project execution of roads, highways and expressways?

At the recently concluded EXCON 2021, we introduced multiple products with new and enhanced features that can help in the faster execution of roads, highways and expressways. This includes soil compactors, backhoe loaders, crawler excavators and motor graders along with variants.

The 770 NXeloader backhoe is a highly versatile machine that features a cutting-edge Electro-Hydraulics variable displacement pump, coupled with the proven FPT S8000 engine. The 770EX Plus loader backhoe is powered by a native AL H4C4 engine known for its excellent reliability and durability. The high torque electronic engine is acknowledged for its proved transmission and low downtime; and is backed by a modern hydraulics system that provides more output per litre. The brand has also introduced the 851 FX Center Pivot (CP) model of backhoe loader, known for its FPT engine technology that generates 97 hp and delivers a class leading 453Nm torque.

CASE CX220C LC crawler excavator is designed to handle tough applications and is powered by a proven FPT engine to ensure high productivity with low fuel consumption.

The new 1107EX PD soil compactor features a standard drive and smooth drum for multi-purpose activities and standard compaction jobs. The 1107EX PD with pad foot drum and double drive is designed for compressing more cohesive materials. It also offers a 25 mm drum and turbocharger with pre-cleaner as a part of its clean and quality design.

CASE also launched the new C-series motor graders that are powerful machines with the FPT 6.7L turbocharged BS (CEV) IV diesel engine, which is electronically controlled. CASE 845C motor grader generates variable Horsepower at 220 rpm - 193HP/205 HP/220 HP which make it ideal for varied operating conditions. The cutting-edge moldboard with 22mm thickness is ideal to operate on any suitable terrain.
