Excerpts from the interview…

As the MD of Ammann India, what is your strategy for the future growth of the company?

Ammann India has invested huge amount of money in the last two years in their production facility at Ditasan / Mehsana. The necessary infrastructure is ready and Ammann India will like to play a very important role by participating in the infrastructure development projects in India, especially the road projects.

What are your long-term goals for Ammann India as far as business is concerned?

Besides the asphalt plants and pavers, Ammann Group has many other products in their basket related to road construction equipment. The long-term goal is to make all these products in India, keeping in line with the country's need of Make in India. Ammann India would be a key contributor to the Ammann Group both for domestic as well as for international business.

Technology and sustainability are the two driving forces of Ammann India's success. How do you plan to take this forward?

Ammann India is a 150-year-old organisation with enormous expertise in developing latest state of the art products for asphalt road construction industry. Thus, Ammann India has the greatest advantage of seamlessly adapting this technology very quickly. I consider, besides, technology and performance of the equipment, excellent after sales service and parts availability is the key to success for long-term sustainability. We will focus towards this.

How do you plan to use your immense experience for the betterment of Ammann India?

I have seen many ups and downs, opportunities and challenges, due to different reasons in my last four decades of association with the industry. We have always been able to adjust ourselves immediately responding to the need of the hour. I am confident that this experience will help me in taking necessary and appropriate steps in meeting all the challenges, with the support of our team.

Could you brief us on the road map?

Ammann is a known key player for asphalt plants, ranging from drum mix to batch mix including the most advanced state of the art ABA plants. Similarly, Ammann is also a dominant player in asphalt paver market - starting from very simple mechanical paver to the state of the art sensor pavers. Ammann was the first one to introduce the counter flow technology in the continuous plant, which offers substantial reduction in fuel consumption. Ammann India is already in the process of introducing many new products predominantly for road construction, viz. the compaction equipment, kerb-laying machines etc.
