In the recent years, IoT has had a vast impact on the construction equipment sector? How do you look at it?

Digital technologies such as 'Internet of Things' and 'Big Data' have ushered in a new era of innovation in the Indian business landscape and today, they touch our lives in more ways that we can imagine. From booking a cab to booking hotels to ordering food is now possible with just few clicks on our smart devices.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The Indian Construction Equipment industry is also fully embracing this convergence of digital and traditional technologies with JCB India, a leading manufacturer of Earthmoving and Construction Equipment pioneering the way. JCB India's commitment towards this digital innovation is demonstrated through advanced telematics technology, LiveLink. Through this state-of-the-art technology, JCB has radically changed and improved the customer experience with its machines. LiveLink benefits the customers in better fleet management - by enabling customers remotely monitor and manage their machines, which leads to better expense management and timely completion of work. LiveLink also provides an opportunity to customers to maximise their returns on investment through better management of their assets.

The Geo fencing and Time fencing features also give out SMS alerts whenever the machine moves out of the designated, pre-determined geographical areas or works outside the pre designated time limits. The machine through the hardware and the mobile network will give out an alert when operated beyond the designated timings or the geo fenced areas. These features are useful where machines are prone to theft and misuse. There are various instances where JCB machines which were stolen have also been recovered as they appeared on the monitoring system the moment they were switched on.

Moreover, with the advent of digital technologies, users can now control their entire fleet in real time and all the critical machine information is available on their smart devices in the form of digital applications such as JCB LiveLink app, JCB Smart Serve App and Smart Machine Diagnostics app.   [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image="34096″ img_size="full"][vc_column_text]What do you expect from Excon this year?

Considering that market analysts have predicted a low period for CE, what is your prognosis of the market for 2020?

Revival is a combination of various factors, of which creation of opportunities is a major part of. The recent measures announced by the government, consisting of a slew of actions, are an effort to address the problem of trade slowdown.

With the implementation of large-scale projects, including projects of national importance, the road equipment industry is on a path to gain momentum. A significant financial outlay announced by the Government has been driving demand for road equipment and will continue to effectively boost demand in the construction equipment industry.

Roads and Highways followed by Water Conservation and Irrigation are the leading growth sectors at present. Going forward, projects such as Sagarmala, Bharatmala, Jal Marg Vikas, Smart Cities and AMRUT housing together with a strong focus on rural development, we are hopeful that this will have a positive impact in imparting stability to the sector in the near future. As rural further integrates, we are hopeful of seeing more activity in terms of building infrastructure in this sector. The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna has been one such program. Also, with a focus on water, Har Ghar Jal and Conservation projects, lakes and reservoirs are further expected to boost demand. With concerted efforts, the long-term prospects look positive and we are hopeful of seeing a strong growth trajectory in the Construction Equipment industry in the next year.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
