How is the construction equipment market gaining pace in India? What are the demand drivers?

The construction equipment market in India is gaining pace due to various factors, such as the increasing investment in infrastructure development, the growing urbanisation and industrialisation, the rising demand for affordable housing, and the government initiatives and policies to support the construction sector. According to a report by India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF), the construction equipment market in India is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10% from 2020 to 2025, reaching $27 billion by 2025.

What kind of demand are you anticipating for your plants and equipment in future?

We anticipate a strong demand for our plants and equipment in the future, as we offer a wide range of products that cater to the diverse needs of the construction and infrastructure sectors. Our products include concrete pumps, transit mixers, batching plants, self-loading mixers, shotcrete machines, and so on, that are suitable for various applications, such as building construction, road construction, tunnelling, mining, irrigation, and power projects.

How are you meeting the needs of customers in a time-bound and cost-effective way? What could be the challenges and how will you tackle these challenges?

We are meeting the needs of our customers in a time-bound and cost-effective way by providing them with high-quality, reliable, and technologically advanced equipment that can deliver optimal performance and efficiency. We also provide them with prompt and professional after-sales service and support, through our wide network of service centres and dealers across the country. We offer them comprehensive training and guidance, through our training department to help them operate and maintain our equipment effectively. Some of the challenges that we face in meeting the needs of our customers are the availability of skilled manpower, and the regulatory and environmental compliance. We tackle these challenges by investing in research and development, by adopting innovative technologies and features, and by following the best practices and standards in the industry.

How will Excon act as a platform for presenting your technologies and services to your customers? What are your plans for this year to attract customers?

Excon 2023 is a great platform for us to present our technologies and services to our customers, as it is the largest and most prestigious construction equipment exhibition in South Asia. It attracts thousands of visitors, including industry professionals, policy makers, media, and potential buyers, from India and abroad. It also provides us with an opportunity to showcase our latest innovations and achievements, and to interact with our existing and prospective customers. Our plans for this year to attract customers are to display a range of new products at the OD 31, in a 4,926 sq. meter space, to demonstrate how these products can address the specific challenges and needs of the construction industry, and to offer attractive schemes and discounts for our products.

How are your technologies and services going to address the changing needs of the customers considering the growing size and complexities of projects?

One of the innovative technologies and features that Schwing Stetter India is showcasing at the Excon mega trade show is Schwing IoT Ready, which is a cloud-based platform that enables remote monitoring and management of Schwing equipment. This platform provides real-time data on performance, maintenance, and diagnostics of Schwing equipment, allowing users to optimise their operations, reduce downtime, and enhance efficiency. Schwing IoT Ready is compatible with all Schwing equipment and can be accessed through any device with an internet connection.

What are the strategies for effectively serve your customers in future?

Our strategies for effectively serving our customers in the future are to continue to provide them with high-quality, reliable, and technologically advanced equipment that can cater to their diverse and evolving needs. We also plan to expand our product portfolio, by introducing new products and improving existing ones, by incorporating cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain. We plan to enhance our customer service and support, by strengthening our service network, by providing 24/7 customer care, and by collecting and analysing customer feedback and suggestions. We also plan to strengthen our position in the construction equipment market, by entering into strategic partnerships and collaborations, by participating in industry events and exhibitions, and by following the market trends and opportunities.
