How was the year 2024 for the company and its business?
The year 2024 has been a year of resilience and strategic growth for Schwing Stetter India. Despite global economic challenges and uncertainties caused by election cycles worldwide, we managed to surpass Rs 5,600 crore in revenue. This was made possible by our unwavering focus on customer-centric innovation, robust product portfolio, and expanded global footprint. Our participation in high-profile projects and increased adoption of sustainable equipment has solidified our position as a leader in the construction equipment sector. Additionally, initiatives like our all-women service center and industry-first machine demonstrations by female technicians have highlighted our commitment to inclusivity and workforce empowerment.
What are the prevailing challenges in the construction sector when we enter the new year? What are the emerging opportunities?
The construction sector continues to face challenges such as fluctuating raw material costs, regulatory changes, and the increasing need for sustainability in operations. Additionally, a shortage of skilled labour and the demand for faster project execution with limited environmental impact remain critical hurdles.
On the brighter side, India’s infrastructure boom presents immense opportunities, driven by initiatives like the National Infrastructure Pipeline and urban expansion projects. The demand for technologically advanced, eco-friendly equipment is rising, and Schwing Stetter India is well-positioned to lead this transformation. Our new solutions, like the truck mixer pump with reduced carbon emissions, reflect our readiness to address these challenges while capitalizing on the emerging opportunities.
How are you planning the year ahead? What are your goals and way forward?
As we step into 2025, our focus will be on achieving double-digit growth, leveraging both domestic and international markets. We plan to strengthen our “Make in India, Sell Globally” strategy by expanding exports of our innovative equipment. A key priority will be scaling up sustainable practices in both our manufacturing and product design, ensuring compliance with global environmental standards. Additionally, we are investing in skill development programs and embracing Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance operational efficiency and product quality. With an expanding product portfolio, continued customer engagement, and a focus on innovation, we aim to set new benchmarks in the construction equipment industry.
