How do you look at the year 2022-23 and beyond for road construction?

The Indian construction industry recorded growth of approx. 6% in 2022 compared to growth of 17% in 2021, which was due to support provided by continued relaxation of restrictions and improving construction activity in the road and highways sector. This decline is attributed to slowdown in the road construction activities due to decrease rate of project award from government agencies, increase in machinery cost, soaring construction costs, delays in land acquisition & tendering, supply chain constraints etc. The Indian construction industry is expected to register an average annual growth of approx. 6.5% during 2023-2026, supported by investment under the 'PM Gati Shakti Master Plan'.

What are the breakthrough technologies and services introduced by the company recently for roads and highways construction?

All the machines offered by Wirtgen are equipped with computer-assisted automated features which not only optimize operating processes and machine productivity, but also improve operator performance. 

Wirtgen has the right equipment for productive and profitable asphalt and concrete construction materials recycling, ranging from wheeled and tracked cold recyclers. In the cold recycling process, 100 percent of the reclaimed material can be reused and cost-effectively treated, making cold recycling both an economical and an environmentally friendly option.

VÖGELE has introduced several innovations like the pressure bars & electric heating of the screed, Niveltronic plus operating concept and ergo plus operator features. Dash -3 pavers, Eco plus, Autoset plus, Pave dock assistant etc. are additional features and helps in saving fuel etc. VÖGELE also offers several other innovative products like the Mobile feeder used for building of airport runways and expressways and also the inline paving technology. Another innovation from VÖGELE is the Road Scan, sensor pavers, electric heating of screed, high compaction screed with pressure bars, Spray jet, Mobile feeder, Inline pave, Niveltronic plus for string less paving etc.
