What is the current market scenario of machine-made bricks? How do you see the demand trend?
Currently, machine-made bricks are one of the most popular choices for large institutions like hotels, hospitals, universities, private bungalows, and farmhouses. Owing to their high compressive strength, they are also widely used for load-bearing structures like boundary walls, basement walls, and elevator shafts, and parts of a building that require heavy-duty performance. Builders or contractors working on premium or luxury projects prefer machine-made bricks, because of their consistency and high quality.
India is witnessing a very huge surge in demand for both residential and commercial projects, especially premium and luxury projects. With this rise in demand, the demand for products used in them has also been increasing. As a result, Jindal Bricks has been seeing a very high surge in demand for machine-made bricks and high-quality bricks.
How is Jindal Bricks consolidating its presence in the market?
We have been in the industry for more than two decades, and so, we hold a significant market share in machine-made bricks. Now, we are expanding our range of bricks and cladding tiles, partnering with large distributors in different states and regions of the country, to market them and enhance awareness about their benefits. We also place a lot of focus on research and development, and constantly innovate our product offerings, from enhancing energy efficiency and compressive strength to ensuring sustainability, as well.
What are the key trends emerging from the bricks and tiles industry in India?
Machine-made bricks themselves aren't exactly a new concept, but currently, we are seeing a lot of architects and builders use bricks and tiles in very innovative ways.
What are your expansion plans in India? What opportunities do you visualise in future?
We are currently engaging a lot of large distributors in different states to market our product in India, and we are also about to launch a new brand under Jindal Bricks that specifically caters to the market for cladding tiles and pavers. A key focus of ours is on sustainability and awareness for buyers in India. We are working on promoting the use of energy-efficient building materials, as I see a lot of opportunities for sustainable building projects. With India being a developing country, there is a huge requirement for infrastructure, from buildings and interiors to public structures and more; there is an ever-increasing need for space to be redesigned.
Hence, we always ensure our building materials are future-ready, given the current situation of climate change, pollution, and the need for sustainable practices, especially since construction projects cause quite a bit of pollution. Taking that into consideration, we should be proactively supporting energy-efficient and sustainable building materials in our country and this is what we aim to further, at Jindal Bricks.
Another key opportunity I see is the tile market. India is currently one of the highest exporters of cladding tiles and ceramic tiles in the world. Jindal Bricks entertaining enquiries from clients in Africa, the Middle East, and even South-East Asia. So, the opportunities are huge for a product like this, as they offer a unique differentiating factor to any and all structures, be it your home, a hotel entrance, or a rooftop lounge!
