What are the major demand drivers of data center market in India?

There has been an unexpected surge in data consumption due to the increased use of digital platforms and adaption of cloud services in the recent past. Besides this, data protection and localisation (Draft Data Protection Bill), proactive government policies like assigning infrastructure status, the growth in IT & ITES sector, increased adoption of cloud services, and National E-Commerce Policy have further fuelled the demand for data centres in India.

What kind of technologies and solutions do you provide for data center facilities?

Numeric provides cutting-edge power back-up solution which caters and solves multiple challenges of modern data centres and at the same time helps data centre operators to have low TCO and Opex. Our solutions help customers to have complete modular, flexible and configurable approach to its design and build as per the growing business needs.

We have recently launched Keor XPE, which is designed for data centres and mission critical applications. Maintaining high uptime is critical to such applications. Keor XPE has the unique feature of hot serviceability which means that the power units can be connected, removed or replaced while the rest of the system continues to feed power and protects the critical load.

Another need-based smart solution that we introduced is Keor MOD, a true high-density modular UPS. Each power module in Keor MOD by itself is a complete three-phase UPS with a nominal power of 25 kW in just two rack units.

Our service solutions ensure business continuity for our customers at all times. With our largest service network of over 250 direct  service centres, and over 900 trained field technicians, we cover over 1,000 cities across the length and breadth of the country. From installation and commissioning to UPS battery solutions, our in-house service team provides service solutions for customers across size  and segment.

What kind of opportunities do you visualise for global players and technologies in the Indian data centre market?

India's data centre industry is poised for a period of sustained growth, driven by a diverse range of consumption and demographic trends.

The recent study shows that the expansion of the Indian data centre industry will be supported by the accelerated adoption of digital infrastructure during the pandemic, rising digital usage, cloud consumption and the 5G rollout.

India's digital transformation is expected to create an economic value of $1 trillion by 2025. Apart from existing sectors, new areas like agriculture, healthcare, logistics, jobs and skills market, e-governance and other areas, coupled with advanced technologies, will lead to significant growth of data storage and computing. The Indian data centre industry will in fact act as the backbone, enabling India to emerge as a global hub.

How do you look at the future of data centre market in India? What are your plans for this sector in India?

India, in the near future is going to have 3,000 MW data centre capacity. Numeric has aligned its business plans to push the solutions to large co-location and hyper-scale builders. To meet such high demand, we are doing product localisation and upgrading our own capacity to meet the growing demands and expectation of our customer offering a better lead time.
