Could you enlighten us on the current materials and product trends in construction chemicals for building & construction industry?

A decade back construction chemicals were considered as an additional cost and not a mandatory product for every use in construction. But now the scenario is totally changed. It has become a part and parcel of the construction. The evolution started with concrete admixtures for high strength concrete, pump able concrete or to gain early strength. The current trends in building construction are majorly about green building concepts and specification constitutes zero VOC products, energy saving materials and precast housing technology.

What are Fosroc's contributions in terms of innovative products and solutions? 

Fosroc is known for technology and innovation. We are continuously bringing new products and technologies to support faster construction, quality enhancement and durability. Resent past we have introduced Epoxy Anchors for structural anchoring, polyurethane based technology for roof and podium waterproofing systems and bi-polar corrosion inhibitors for concrete. For the repair and rehabilitation of structures we have got our products tested for CE certification.

What is your take on the importance of trained applicators? 

Yes, applicators play a vital role in the projects. A good product if not applied properly can fail miserably. We have various training modules and systems in place and we continuously train our applicators for improving their skill and technical know how about the products and application systems. We have regional application experts on board to support these applicators for product application methods, termination detailing and for adherence to the set specifications.

What has been the impact of the pandemic?

Pandemic is all over the world and has affected the construction industry to large extend. The same impact has been felt by the construction chemical industry too. There is a huge shortage of the man power which has hindered the progress in the construction activity. We are not able to utilise our full production capacities post lockdown as the demand from our customers are not consistent as earlier.

What are the major challenges the industry is facing in today's context? 

The major challenge that industry is facing are shortage of workmen, raw material supply and free movement of goods and services. At our offices and factories across we have laid strict guidelines to follow and facilitate safe working atmosphere to our teams.

Brief us on the measures taken to support your customers during this crisis?   

Fosroc always believe in providing constructive solutions to our customers. We have connected to all our customers through online webinars and seminars during this pandemic lockdown time, our product management experts, specification experts and sales managers are continuously and constantly interacting with our customers and are getting connected through on line webinars/ skype calls  to keep them appraised about the products and systems. This has improved our relationship building with our valued customers.
