What is the current scenario of the pipes and fittings market in India?

The pipes and fittings market grows simultaneously with the construction industry, which has picked up very well and hence the growth in our business is reflected. Sustainable drainage and water supply products are in great demand as the developer fraternity is moving to sustainable products for making their projects. Industry is on a growth path and Huliot is well poised to reap the benefits of its sustainable product offerings.

What are the prevailing demand trends for pipes and fittings? Which segments drive the demand for your products?

Huliot has been in the forefront in making sustainable products that require minimal labour and are easy to assemble.

The segments fueling our growth are PP Silent/LowNoise Pipes - UltraSilent, Single Stack System for high rise building using Swept Tee. The shift to PP pipes from PVC is a big change and Huliot has created a category in the Indian plumbing market when it introduced PP Acoustic Triple Layered Pipe. Also, adoption of MultiLayer Pipe over CPVC is driving demand steadily. Huliot offers PERT - AL - PERT pipe in the Multilayer category which drastically brings down the time taken for completing the bathroom work. Overall, all our products are good for the environment and recyclable.

What are the latest innovations in terms of materials and design? What is your contributory role in these areas?

Sustainable materials are making inroads, which was long due as pipes were made with non-eco-friendly materials. As mentioned earlier, Huliot created the sustainable pipe and low noise pipe category in India, and augmented the category by making them in triple layer for standard and acoustic pipes. Low Noise pipes are in great demand for residential, commercial and second home categories as the consumer has started demanding them from the developers.

In the water supply pipe category, the Easy to Fit and Leak Proof solutions have good adoption as it is design friendly, easy to assemble and assures no leakages. Architects have design freedom, clients are assured of great products and plumbers have a product with a very easy installation process, win-win for everyone.

What are the major opportunities you look at in the post-Covid scenario?

Our PERT-AL-PERT multilayer pipe has seen significant acceptance in projects. The indirect costs associated with conventional CPVC pipes are completely removed and less labour is required for completing the bathroom.

A creeping demand for waste water management - cleaning and reuse, also now mandated by the government, is a potential avenue for us. Our product ClearBlack is a perfect fit for projects which require modular sewage treatment plants with IOT-based controls for managing it.

As a sustainable product manufacturer, we are best fit for the environment and clients.

What are your future plans in terms of product and market expansions?

We are continuously researching and developing products for our clients, we will be soon launching a new product that will better the drainage system in high rises. Further, our goal is to establish the PPR - RedFire pipe system, a desirable solution for sprinkler and hose in low and general risk areas of the buildings as an alternative to MS and GI pipes. And create awareness in the sewage treatment plant market about ClearBlack- IOT enabled modular MBR STP plant for domestic and industrial usage for water treatment.
